Station Stays
Charlotte Plains
Charlotte Plains is a family-owned, operated sheep station and campground, near Cunnamulla – Queensland. Our Artesian Hot Springs offer a naturally heated water park for guests wishing to soak in the warm mineral-rich water, while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
In addition to the Hot Springs, they offer an authentic Australian outback experience to visitors, combining an insight into sheep station life and offering guided tours! There is also a spectacular array of birds for birdwatchers and other animals, surrounding the campgrounds.
Hot Artesian Springs are natural hot springs that occur when water is heated deep within the earth and rises to the surface under pressure. The high temperature and mineral content of the water has a relaxing effect on the muscles and can also help to improve circulation and soothe joint pain.
Alroy Station
The Camping Grounds are on the banks of the Yowah Creek & offer a authentic outback camping experience.
For a down to earth Australian station stay, with cattle, sheep, working dogs, friendly farmers, artesian hot baths and as much country as you can see, Alroy Station is for you.
The simple camp kitchen has everything you need, including an original old wood stove, in case you’d like to try your hand at making scones or damper.
Amenities are rustic, with plenty of artesian hot water to go around. Or, if you’d like to bathe under the magnificent country stars, settle into the private artesian hot tub a little later.
Camp fires are welcome and each afternoon, one of the friendly owners, Mary or Mac will drop by with a load of wood (and quite possibly a chat too.)
Francvillers Station
Francvillers Station is a working Sheep, Goat & Cattle property.
They offer seclusion, only taking three to four self-sufficient groups at a time ensuring complete privacy, no shared space. Just the real Outback. Weather permitting.
When you arrive you will be met and guided to the camp site.
Perfectly suited to families, grey nomads and those chasing a genuine outback experience. With tributaries and rocky outcrops to explore, wildlife to enjoy and endless skies your stay will be uninterrupted, exclusive and we think, unforgettable.
All guests should respect the natural environment and leave little in the way of a footprint behind when they leave. This is an independent camping experience, it is not hosted and guests are to be self sufficient within their campsites.
Ticklemans Garden Station
Ticklemans Garden is situated on the banks of the Warrego River, 30 mins from Cunnamulla on the Old Charleville Rd. Open from the end of March to the end of October each year. All bookings and payments are made through the HipCamp App. This is a dry weather designation only, as the road is mostly unsealed.
There are 16 sites available. Six along the River bank, which are strictly 4WD with the remaining sites set up within a designated area, to provide easy drive through sites.
This is a beautiful location to get disconnected from technology and the business of life, and get connected to nature. Enjoy the fishing. Ticklemans is a 3km long billabong that is known as one of the best fishing holes along the river. Yellow Belly, Cod and of course Carp. The wildlife and bird life is amazing. Canoes and Kayaks are also available for hire.
All campers must be self-sufficient and bring their own camping toilet. Caravans and RV’s must be self contained. There is one composting toilet for those emergency times. Pets are welcome, but must be on Leash as wildlife is in abundance around the area.
