The Wellness Way is a drive route through Outback Queensland, taking you on a journey to 24 different hot springs experiences, from bathhouses, luxury bathing and station soaking.

WHERE IS THE ROUTE?

Charlotte Plains, QLD Australia

The route starts in Mitchell, just west of Roma and takes you down to St George across to Cunnamulla and all the way up to Julia Creek and beyond. But you can start your journey anywhere you like along the route and take in as many or as few wellness experiences as you like.

WHAT ELSE IS THERE APART FROM BATHING?

So its not all just about the bathing in hot artesian spring water. Wellness can also be about getting back to nature, enjoying a massage, camping under the outback stars, eating good food and sharing time with friends and family. There are a lot of ways to experience wellness.

Cunnamulla and indeed the whole Paroo Shire which also includes the towns of Eulo Yowah and Wyandra sits of the edge of the Great Artesian Basin and has had the luxury of artesian water for millennia.

Absolutely, people have been bathing in artesian waters for thousands of years to assist in their physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and skin health. Artesian waters have varying mineral contents all of which may help you in many ways.

WHERE DOES THE WATER COME FROM?

The Great Artesian Basin is directly under our feet and we have some of the oldest artesian waters in the world. Springwater has bubbled up from below for millions of years and been used by First Nations people for over 40,000 years.
