Eulo is dinosaur country where it’s normal to hear people talking about megafauna and giant wombats! A wonderful little town with proud locals that truly espouse the feel of outback Queensland. Boasting a population of about 70 people with plenty of visitors dropping in, Eulo is a 40 minute drive from Cunnamulla on the Bulloo Development Road, and well worth a visit.
With a welcoming local community, you’ll enjoy a range of activities and experiences to make your visit memorable. Be greeted by the giant statue of Diprotodon as you arrive and take a history lesson about the amazing discoveries of mega fauna in the district. All that touring will make you hungry and Eulo offers plenty of country food and hospitality with generous servings to fill you up ready for the next adventure.
Spend some time fishing or birdwatching on the Paroo River and Eulo Five Mile Waterhole, before soaking away all those stresses and muscle aches in the famous Artesian Mud Baths. After all, you haven’t lived until you relax in a bath tub of warm artesian water rubbing in some rejuvenating mineral rich mud whilst overlooking an outback sunset!
Visitors with RV’s, caravans and campers are welcome with comfortable and homely country accommodation options that include cabins and rooms at the Eulo Queen Hotel and Caravan Park, named after the famous Queen of Eulo, Elizabeth Gray who ran the hotel in the late 1880’s. It’s quite a story so don’t forget to ask the locals about Elizabeth and her exploits!
Eulo is in the Paroo Shire and is truly part of the outback Queensland experience where you’re always welcome and you can Live like a local!
