7 Days Of Outback Festivals
April 2024 – Take a 7 Day Road-trip to Experience some great Outback Queensland Festivals
Day 1 Monday 15th April | Go West! | Charlotte Plains
The road trip starts!
It’s a 7 hour drive west from Toowoomba, out to the famous Charlotte Plains Station, a working sheep and cattle property.
Don’t forget to stop every 2 hours and drive safe, so that’s a stop in Moonie, lunch in St George, stretch your legs in Bollon to arrive safely early afternoon in Charlotte Plains. It’s now time for some serious relaxing in the natural artesian waters, where you’ll soak your cares away.
Set up camp, meet some new friends and settle in for some great music under the stars for your first night in the Queensland Outback.

Day 2 Tuesday 16th April | Serious Soaking, Ballards and Bush Yarns | Charlotte Plains
After your outback drive yesterday, today is the day to explore; join a working property tour, relax in the healing natural artesian waters, take some time for a little birdwatching, or just save your energy for the big night at Charlotte Plains.
You’ll be partying the night away later with Troy Cassar-Daley and Loren Ryan courtesy of Queensland Music Trails, so make sure you get a little R & R during the day!
Day 3 Wednesday 17th April | A Tough Decision | Charlotte Plains or Cunnamulla
Now this is where life starts getting difficult. Do you spend another day relaxing and recovering from the most amazing musical night at Charlotte Plains or do you pack up and take the short 40 minute drive west to Cunnamulla?
There is no wrong decision, both are great options, but at some point you have to visit the brand new Cunnamulla Hot Springs; 7 pools, sauna and steam-room in a state of the art facility, make sure you stay for an evening soak and appreciate the extra-ordinary music event put on by Cunnamulla Hot Springs especially for your outback trip!

Day 4 Thursday 18th April | Some Retail Therapy | Yowah, Eulo & Wyandra
Take a trip to Yowah (158km) and fossick for a world famous Yowah Nut Opal, or stop in at one of the towns many opal shops and take advantage of someone else doing all the hard work! On the way back, make a stop in Eulo and visit the Eulo Queen Opal Centre, leather workshops or artisan jewelers, to grab a few hand made gifts.
You could always do the short 98km drive north to Wyandra, check out the general store, grab a cold beer in the pub or have a swim at Wyandra’s own outback beach.
And don’t forget there’s more live music tonight at the Cunnamulla Hot Springs!
