What is the Cunnamulla Fella Festival?

The festival was started in 2005 to honour the great outback spirit of the Cunnamulla Fella — an iconic bush figure immortalised in song by Sam Coster and Slim Dusty. This fun-filled celebration of the cultural heritage of Cunnamulla and the Paroo Shire has become a highlight of the outback events calendar. Each year, the event goes from strength to strength with tourists coming from NSW, Queensland and Victoria.

This year the festival promises to be bigger and better than ever with a Rodeo and Entertainment evening, along with the high-octane PBR Bull Ride, where professional bull riders will compete for the coveted Cunnamulla Fella Festival Opal Buckle. This year, visitors can enjoy all the live action and replays on our new widescreen. The jam-packed program promises country music, live entertainment and a carnival atmosphere. The Cunnamulla Fella Festival makes for a great weekend out, with plenty of activities for the whole family.

What are the dates of the Festival?

Friday 24 August – Sunday 26 August 2018.
