We can learn much about the station’s early operations from this photo taken c. 1910.

The wagonload of wool approaching from the west would have just crossed the railway bridge over the Warrego River constructed in 1900.

The citizens of Cunnaulla were upset that this long awaited bridge across the river was built next to the railway line and not located closer to town. The government however had an eye to further westward expansion of the rail line and so the locals lost this battle.

It was only when these rail expansion plans were well and truly scrapped that things changed. This out of the way crossing was demolished when a new bridge built in its present day location in the heart of the town in 1939.
